{"id":1122,"date":"2015-09-29T19:45:00","date_gmt":"2015-09-29T19:45:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.mrpottersclassroom.com\/cms\/?p=1122"},"modified":"2015-09-29T19:45:00","modified_gmt":"2015-09-29T19:45:00","slug":"homework-sep-29-tues","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.mrpottersclassroom.com\/cms\/?p=1122","title":{"rendered":"Homework Sep 29 (Tues)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Tomorrow is\u00a0track out!<\/p>\n<p>Please remember we are tracked out from October 1st through October 21st. \u00a02nd quarter begins on Thursday, October 22nd.<\/p>\n<p>Tomorrow is also pajama\/pillow\/blanket day. \u00a0Students may wear their pajamas, and bring a pillow or blanket tomorrow if they like!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>We spent the majority of our morning finishing up our quick unit on the age of exploration. \u00a0We also took a quick quiz on the continents of the world. \u00a0If your student hasn&#8217;t sung the continents song for you yet, make sure you ask them about it \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Tonight students have a final packet to do concerning exploiters (ahem) I mean explorers of the 15th\/16th centuries.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.mrpottersclassroom.com\/cms\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/AgeOfExploration.pdf\">AgeOfExploration<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>We then had some discussions dealing with whether we feel it was fair for the people from Europe to simply show up and take lands, resources, and riches from the native peoples of North and South America. \u00a0Most of us agreed this was not fair. \u00a0We then discussed whether at this point in time we can truly solve that injustice. \u00a0Can we just give everything back? \u00a0Where does that put us? \u00a0Who gets what? \u00a0Land? \u00a0Reparations? \u00a0Apologies? \u00a0It&#8217;s a good exercise in discovering that many things lack simple solutions, and even when we can see something as definitely wrong, righting the wrong can prove problematic.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>We ended our day by taking our culminating animals and ecosystems test. \u00a0This was essentially the students&#8217; last chance to prove to me that they understood some of the concepts we went over this quarter.<\/p>\n<p>And before you knew it, it was time to go! \u00a0We&#8217;ll have to read about 30 pages tomorrow morning to finish up the Mysterious Benedict Society as we didn&#8217;t get a chance to finish it today.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>so, tl;dr<\/p>\n<p>Finish this packet about the Age of Exploration:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.mrpottersclassroom.com\/cms\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/AgeOfExploration.pdf\">AgeOfExploration<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>And read!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Have a good one,<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>-Mr. Potter<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Tomorrow is\u00a0track out!
