{"id":1287,"date":"2016-02-01T21:00:24","date_gmt":"2016-02-01T21:00:24","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.mrpottersclassroom.com\/cms\/?p=1287"},"modified":"2016-02-01T21:00:24","modified_gmt":"2016-02-01T21:00:24","slug":"homework-feb-1-mon","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.mrpottersclassroom.com\/cms\/?p=1287","title":{"rendered":"Homework Feb 1 (Mon)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Welcome back after such a LONG weekend!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Today was another very productive day. \u00a0I could get used to these!<\/p>\n<p>We did a ton of rotations this morning.<\/p>\n<p>Students worked on IXL (A new program we are using focusing in math and science)<\/p>\n<p>Students found examples of figurative language in Shel Silverstein books.<\/p>\n<p>Students read in small groups with Mr. Potter<\/p>\n<p>Students worked\u00a0on\u00a0division in small groups with Mr. Potter<\/p>\n<p>And students worked on Alliteration in small groups<\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s a lot of stuff!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Tonight students should shock me by showing their\u00a0amazing abilities with alliteration.<\/p>\n<p>The first worksheet is self explanatory. \u00a0On the second worksheet, students brainstorm words that begin with the letter A, B, and C on the front in the boxes. \u00a0They then use those words to create a sentence using alliteration, a la Dr. Seuss&#8217; A B C. \u00a0On the back they should do the same with D, E, and F.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.mrpottersclassroom.com\/cms\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/Alliteration.pdf\" rel=\"\">Alliteration<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.mrpottersclassroom.com\/cms\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/Alliteration-Seuss.pdf\" rel=\"\">Alliteration Seuss<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Next we looked at all of the quizzes we took on Friday. \u00a0Students received a sheet that they used to record all of their quiz scores.<\/p>\n<p>They then used their performance to think about what they still need to work on to become proficient, and then specifically what they will do in order to achieve that.<\/p>\n<p>They also recorded homework and reading logs turned in last week. \u00a0We will start doing these weekly and students will be responsible for getting these signed and returned.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Tonight students have different math homework depending upon what they need to do. \u00a0Below are four sets of decimals. \u00a0If they need to work on adding, they should add these. \u00a0If they need to work on subtraction they should subtract them. \u00a0If they need to work on multiplication they should multiply them, and if they need to work on division, they should divide them!<\/p>\n<p>1.4 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0.7<\/p>\n<p>2.4 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0.6<\/p>\n<p>.27 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0.09<\/p>\n<p>.30 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0.06<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>So tl;dr<\/p>\n<p>alliteration!!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.mrpottersclassroom.com\/cms\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/Alliteration.pdf\" rel=\"\">Alliteration<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.mrpottersclassroom.com\/cms\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/Alliteration-Seuss.pdf\" rel=\"\">Alliteration Seuss<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Add, subtract, multiply, or divide these numbers based on what you need to work on:<\/p>\n<p>1.4 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0.7<\/p>\n<p>2.4 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0.6<\/p>\n<p>.27 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0.09<\/p>\n<p>.30 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0.06<\/p>\n<p>Bring back your quiz sheet signed!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>And read!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Have a good one,<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>-Mr. Potter<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Welcome back after such a LONG weekend! &nbsp; Today was another very productive day. \u00a0I could get used to these!
