{"id":1297,"date":"2016-02-03T20:37:02","date_gmt":"2016-02-03T20:37:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.mrpottersclassroom.com\/cms\/?p=1297"},"modified":"2016-02-03T20:37:02","modified_gmt":"2016-02-03T20:37:02","slug":"homework-feb-3-wed","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.mrpottersclassroom.com\/cms\/?p=1297","title":{"rendered":"Homework Feb 3 (Wed)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Today we were a liiiiitle loud&#8230;.but still pretty good.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>This morning we did a bunch more rotations.<\/p>\n<p>Students analyzed another poem.<\/p>\n<p>They worked on identifying figurative language in poetry.<\/p>\n<p>They worked independently on the figurative language they still need work on<\/p>\n<p>And they read more of &#8220;Love that Dog&#8221; with Mr. Potter!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Tonight students need to find an example of figurative language in the book they are currently reading. \u00a0Some students expressed concern that their book may not have any figurative language, and we talked about how simple it should be to find examples of simile and hyperbole.<\/p>\n<p>In science we are going to continue talking about weather for the entire quarter. \u00a0Tonight students should find a weather forecast for Friday, and copy it down. \u00a0We will be looking at these tomorrow. \u00a0I have purposefully been vague about what copying down Friday&#8217;s forecast means. \u00a0I am interested in what they believe to be a complete forecast for Friday.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In Math today we talked AT LENGTH about division, and how we divide things. \u00a0We are either dividing something up into groups, OR we are dividing something up into groups of a given size.<\/p>\n<p>Tonight again students have division problems to analyze. \u00a0They should determine whether we are splitting something up into a given number of groups, OR if we are dividing something up into groups of a given size.<\/p>\n<p>Essentially they should be asking themselves what information we have in the problem. \u00a0Do we know how many groups? \u00a0Or do we know how big the groups are? \u00a0Whichever we don&#8217;t know is what we are trying to determine.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.mrpottersclassroom.com\/cms\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/NOTES_Feb3.pdf\" rel=\"\">NOTES_Feb3<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.mrpottersclassroom.com\/cms\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/Division_Feb3.pdf\" rel=\"\">Division_Feb3<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>so, tl;dr<\/p>\n<p>Find an example of figurative language in your book to show me tomorrow. \u00a0If you\u00a0write this down, make sure to include the page number.<\/p>\n<p>Write down Friday&#8217;s weather forecast<\/p>\n<p>Analyze some division problems<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.mrpottersclassroom.com\/cms\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/NOTES_Feb3.pdf\" rel=\"\">NOTES_Feb3<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.mrpottersclassroom.com\/cms\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/Division_Feb3.pdf\" rel=\"\">Division_Feb3<\/a><\/p>\n<p>And read!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Have a good one,<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>-Mr. Potter<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Today we were a liiiiitle loud&#8230;.but still pretty good. &nbsp; &nbsp; This morning we did a bunch more rotations.
