Today was our last EOG!!!<\/p>\n
many of our students really worked diligently on today’s EOG. \u00a0I saw pages of models, pictures, equations, reasoning, and checking of work with inverse operations.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
A few students, unfortunately, did not utilize our strategies for solving problems (writing out what we know, drawing pictures, proving our choice of operations, and checking our work). \u00a0Some students simply tried to get done as quickly as possible by guessing at answers or not checking their work.<\/p>\n
I was very surprised and disappointed with a few individuals, and we had some one on one conferences this afternoon. \u00a0Some of our students still don’t quite understand that the consequences for doing poorly now will not come until later, when their choices of classes and opportunities in middle school and then high school become limited. \u00a0Agree with it or not, it is the system we have ;-\/<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Tomorrow is our end of quarter celebration!<\/p>\n
We have:<\/p>\n
donuts in the morning<\/p>\n
a surprise in the afternoon<\/p>\n
and ice cream before we go home!<\/p>\n
If students would like to bring something to play with, or a snack\/drink to share with the class, they are welcome to do so.<\/p>\n

No homework! \u00a0RELAX. \u00a0You just did 8 hours of testing in two days.<\/p>\n
