Today we were focused on our projects. \u00a0For the rest of this week and the beginning of next this will be\u00a0the majority of our days.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
In science we are continuing to research biomes. \u00a0I am constantly reminding students to use this time wisely to get as much information as possible read and written down in their own words. \u00a0The better their research is done, the easier the rest of the project will be. \u00a0We talked especially about how they will need to research specific animals to figure out who eats whom in their biome. \u00a0This will make it possible to create a food web.<\/p>\n
We also finally got a chance to measure our plants today during a lull in the rain. \u00a0We had quite a bit of new growth and seeds that have sprouted. \u00a0Rain isn’t all bad!<\/p>\n
In Writing we continued to work on our Bad Road for Cats version 2. \u00a0Today we shared our ideas with the class. \u00a0Many students have some REALLY neat ideas, and I’m looking forward to reading their stories. \u00a0Some students created characters that were non-human, and I like how they are adjusting their story to deal with that.<\/p>\n
Tonight students should continue to do at least *some* writing. \u00a0I expect the rough draft\u00a0to be multiple pages written. \u00a0Students should also write double spaced. \u00a0This is so we have space for a \u00a0good deal of revising.<\/p>\n
Students should also finish their last two words of the vocab list tonight.<\/p>\n
