Today we continued our talk of Base 10. \u00a0We took some notes in our notebooks:<\/p>\n
base10notes<\/a><\/p>\n Next we talked about how base 10 numbers are made up of different parts, and talked about how we can write things in expanded form.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n For example we might have something like 654.<\/p>\n This number is made up of:<\/p>\n 6 hundreds = 6 x 100 = 6 x 10^2<\/p>\n 5 tens = 5 x 10 = 5 x 10^1<\/p>\n 4 ones = 4 x 1 = 4 x 10^0<\/p>\n Which led us into the discussion and explanation of how anything raised to the 0th power is 1.<\/p>\n We did an example of this expanded notation in our example notebooks:<\/p>\n expandednotationexample<\/a><\/p>\n We then talked about counting in base two.
