{"id":299,"date":"2014-06-02T19:26:05","date_gmt":"2014-06-02T19:26:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.mrpottersclassroom.com\/cms\/?p=299"},"modified":"2014-06-02T21:23:29","modified_gmt":"2014-06-02T21:23:29","slug":"homework-june-2-mon","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.mrpottersclassroom.com\/cms\/?p=299","title":{"rendered":"Homework June 2 (Mon)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>And the review has begun<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Today we began making our review posters, to put up in our classroom. \u00a0We&#8217;re going to focus on some specific topics, make &#8216;how to&#8217; diagrams and walk-throughs, and then put them up in our classroom this week. \u00a0From here until the EOGs we are in super review mode.<\/p>\n<p>To this extent, students have the beginning of their math problems review packet (the first two pages) to finish tonight.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.mrpottersclassroom.com\/cms\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/CC-5th-grade-word-problems.pdf\">CC 5th grade word problems<\/a><\/p>\n<p>In language arts, we worked briefly on our research papers. \u00a0Students will have about 20-30 minutes this week each day to work on these. \u00a0I expect the rough draft of their paper to be finished completely by Friday, using only the time given in class. \u00a0We talked about how a good paper &#8216;flows&#8217; and that one paragraph or subtopic should lead smoothly into the next. \u00a0The students should also be careful not to use the word &#8216;I&#8217; in their paper. \u00a0This paper is not their opinion or their own ideas; it should be composed completely of \u00a0facts.<\/p>\n<p>We also introduced a new vocabulary list of vit\/viv words. \u00a0As per usual, students should write 10 sentences tonight using each of their words.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In Science, we watched a short video reviewing the wind and pressure, and then we made a cloud in a bottle. \u00a0Last Friday we made our own individual clouds in jars, but today we made a really neat one utilizing pressure. \u00a0Ask your student about it, and see if they remember that high pressure = sunny and no clouds, low pressure = clouds and possible bad weather. \u00a0There was also a worksheet associated with our video and talk, and if they did not finish this in class, they should finish it for homework tonight.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>tldr;<\/p>\n<p>first two pages of math review packet<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.mrpottersclassroom.com\/cms\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/CC-5th-grade-word-problems.pdf\">CC 5th grade word problems<\/a><\/p>\n<p>10 viv\/vit sentences<\/p>\n<p>wind science worksheet<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.mrpottersclassroom.com\/cms\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/Wind_worksheet.pdf\">Wind_worksheet<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Have a good Monday!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>-Mr. Potter<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>And the review has begun &nbsp; Today we began making our review posters, to put up in our classroom. \u00a0We&#8217;re going to focus on some specific topics, make &#8216;how to&#8217; diagrams and walk-throughs, and then put them up in our classroom this week. \u00a0From here until the EOGs we are in super review mode.
