Our kids have done so well in the cafeteria that today they won a ‘fine dining’ experience with our principal, Mr. Zoller. \u00a0He was very impressed with how well behaved they were.<\/p>\n

In math we started talking a good deal about equivalent fractions. \u00a0The students created their own set of fraction bars, and then we did a few exercises in finding equivalent fractions by lining our fraction bars up.<\/p>\n

fractionBars<\/a><\/p>\n Tonight students should use these to find a few equivalent fractions. \u00a0They should also write down their definition of equivalent. (hint: it’s not ‘the same’).<\/p>\n SimpleEquivalentFractions<\/a><\/p>\n <\/p>\n In Language Arts we continued our discussions of dialogue and conversations in text, and read a silly story that consisted strictly of dialogue.<\/p>\n DialogueOnlyStory<\/a><\/p>\n Tonight students should write their own dialogue only story, remembering the conventions for indention (for each new paragraph), new paragraphs (for each new speaker), and quotation marks (around the dialogue!) \u00a0we have established. \u00a0The story should be a minimum of eight lines. \u00a0If they want to add in their own little silliness or ‘twist’, they are welcome to do so.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n In Science we took some notes on weather, and talked about the rotation of the Earth, and how the heating and cooling at the equator and poles create the wind.<\/p>\n We didn’t have time to get into our discussion of clouds (there’s NEVER enough time for anything really), so they don’t have any science homework tonight.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n so, tl;dr<\/p>\n simple equivalent fractions worksheet. \u00a0Make sure you use your fraction bars to check!<\/p>\n SimpleEquivalentFractions<\/a><\/p>\n fractionBars<\/a><\/p>\n Write a dialogue only story of minimum eight lines<\/p>\n And as always, read for 35 minutes and get your reading log signed!<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Have a good one,<\/p>\n <\/p>\n -Mr. Potter<\/p>\n <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" What a beautiful day for fine dining!
