{"id":847,"date":"2015-05-11T19:54:16","date_gmt":"2015-05-11T19:54:16","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.mrpottersclassroom.com\/cms\/?p=847"},"modified":"2015-05-11T19:54:16","modified_gmt":"2015-05-11T19:54:16","slug":"homework-may-11-mon","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.mrpottersclassroom.com\/cms\/?p=847","title":{"rendered":"Homework May 11 (Mon)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Friday was AWESOME.<\/p>\n<p>We had popcorn, a movie, and then spent the afternoon playing games outside!<\/p>\n<p>We had a tug of war where I got tripped, and the girls in our class dragged me for like 3 meters before they stopped. \u00a0I was totally destroyed! \u00a0It was a great time. \u00a0I hope your student enjoyed it and had some stories for you.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Today we were back to our routine. \u00a0We are down to approximately one month before EOGs, so we will be doing a good bit of review from this point forwards. \u00a0We took some review notes this morning on standard algorithms, and also took a look again at adding, subtracting, dividing, and multiplying with fractions, and what is really going on when we perform these operations.<\/p>\n<p>Tonight students have a set of 6 ANSWERS. \u00a0Their job is to give me an equation that will have the given answer. \u00a0For instance if I gave them 3\/7 and asked them to find an addition equation, something like 1\/7 + 2\/7 would be acceptable. \u00a0There are many different answers. \u00a0We did two examples as well.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.mrpottersclassroom.com\/cms\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/WriteAnEquationMay11.pdf\">WriteAnEquationMay11<\/a><\/p>\n<p>After some Math Centers, we continued our examination of figurative language. \u00a0Last week&#8217;s figurative language assessment was MUCH better than our last figurative language quiz. \u00a0I was very impressed. \u00a0We played some review trashketball, where we got a bit out of hand and had to take some time to calm down.<\/p>\n<p>Next we took a quick look at tonight&#8217;s language arts\/science homework. \u00a0Students received a passage about challenges astronauts face living and working in space. \u00a0We had talked some last week about this, and the students really enjoyed watching videos of Chris Hadfield explaining how they do things up in space. \u00a0This is all to really emphasize to students how many forces are at work in our daily lives that we don&#8217;t even notice. \u00a0It&#8217;s a pretty entertaining passage, and if you get a chance, please read it with your student.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.mrpottersclassroom.com\/cms\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/AstralBodiesMay11.pdf\">AstralBodiesMay11<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Tonight they should read the passage and write for me a minimum half page summary of the content.<\/p>\n<p>And before you knew it, it was time to go!<\/p>\n<p>so, tl;dr<\/p>\n<p>here are some answers. \u00a0Give me an equation that would give me this answer:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.mrpottersclassroom.com\/cms\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/WriteAnEquationMay11.pdf\">WriteAnEquationMay11<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Read this passage and write a minimum half page summary:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.mrpottersclassroom.com\/cms\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/AstralBodiesMay11.pdf\">AstralBodiesMay11<\/a><\/p>\n<p>As always, read!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Have a good one,<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>-Mr. Potter<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Friday was AWESOME.
